Unsigned Code Now Running On iPhone 4S, Jailbreak Solution Shouldn’t Be Far Away

Recently, more information regarding the iPhone 4S jailbreak has hit the Web. In a Twitter update posted by @planetbeing, it was noted that the jailbreak “dream team” has managed to get unsigned code to run on an iPhone 4S handset. Furthermore, a demo video of a jailbroken iPhone 4S has been posted online, and the Corona package has received an update that fixes iBooks.

The Twitter update from @planetbeing read:

planetbeing@planetbeing: Finally got unsigned code running on my 4S with the stuff that will go into the new jailbreak!

Following this, a demo video of the iPhone 4S jailbreak appeared online and was posted on @pod2g’s blog.

Furthermore, Jay Freeman (@saurik) announced that Corona has received an update, which fixes a number of issues (including the iBooks issue). The news hit the Web via Twitter:

Jay Freeman (saurik)@saurik: Corona (5.0.1 untether) 1.0-4 is now out: users of redsn0w or the older packages should install. This fixes both iBooks and launchd (again).

It looks like the release of a jailbreak solution for the iPhone 4S isn’t too far away. As usual, we’ll keep updating you in the meantime – feel free to share your thoughts (and exclamations of excitement!) in the comments.
